Staal Wants to Improve Offensively
Leith Dunick at TB News Watch has a nice feature on Marc Staal in which the Rangers defenseman says this about improving his offensive game..."Offensively I think I'd like to improve and contribute more there, and we'll try to do that again."
...as I'm sure you guys remember I took some shots at Staal earlier in the summer for not living up to expectataions, but if he can improve his offensive capabilities he will put himself in the discussions for best defenseman in the league alongside Chara and Weber.

I actually agree with that you said last month, for all the hype over Staal, he either needs to improve offensively or get angry on the ice. If he wants to take it to the next level an offensive improvement would be nice, but I'd like to see him get nasty, if the other team's offensive guys are going to enter his crease, they are going to pay a price, and needs to enforce that.
@EvanSzymkowicz Not sure he has that nastiness in him. I do think he has the offensive ability though. Just has to get more confidence in it.
@AG_Blue He's married now so I anticipate a lot more snarl especially after a big blow up. ;)
