Rangers 5, Devils 2

The New York Rangers (44-33-5) defeated the New Jersey Devils (37-39-5) by the score of 5-2, today. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...i don't think there is any better word to describe this team than resilient. Whenever you think they are down and out, they pick themselves off the canvas and get the job done. And today's game was a microcosm of the entire year. Down early, you think it's all over and they respond quickly. Devils score a back breaking goal at the end of the first and again they respond. I am going to be really upset if this team doesn't get into the playoffs. They've worked so hard all year and earned my respect.

...Captain Clutch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doesn't get any bigger than that goal to get the Garden crowd right back into it.

...with Gaborik doing his usual vanishing act, it was great to see the secondary scoring from players such as McD, Wolski, Prust and Prospal.

...god I love watching Brodeur get lit up.

...Avery should be happy he didn't play. At least he got a comfortable seat in the press box instead of MZA who sat on the bench for over 56 minutes.

...i don't think Prospal gets excited enough after scoring a goal. ;)

...#1 star in the biggest game of the year for a 21-year old defenseman. How pissed are Montreal fans?

...oh yeah, Let's Go Lightning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...and Hank as always there to lead the way.

...god I hope this isn't my last game recap of the season. I'm not ready for it to end.

Whatever happens in Carolina tonight, its been a GREAT season. Thanks for bringing us all together this year Kevin, and here's hoping we've still got some games left in us.

I believe in my Blueshirts! LETS GO RANGERS! (And for tonight, lets go Tampa! :p)

I don't know how to feel. This team DOES deserve the playoffs. The team we saw against ATL doesn't deserve it. I'm not sure what needs to happen, but the team we saw today (if they could do it for 82 games) really could contend.

@Carillion21 I think you saw more of today's team this year than the team against ATL. 93 points is a pretty good season and usually gets you in the playoffs.

it would be a shame if they don't make the playoffs, especially b/c i want to see whether or not Drury could fill the hole left by Callahan

And now the Hurricanes feel the same pressure as we did this afternoon. Obviously they had games slip away this year, just as we did, that they should have won.

Keep in mind as well that home ice advantage is a funny thing. If you score early it can mean something...if you scared upon early it can increase the pressure.

Lastly, the Tampa Bay Lightning are not an easy tea to beat and you know they want to enter the playoffs on a high.

No matter what happens folks....we have a lot to look forward to next year and many years after.

Your last line of the recap said it best. I don't think any of us are ready for this to end... and this team deserves the playoffs.
