The New York Rangers (43-32-5) defeated the Boston Bruins (44-24-11) by the score of 5-3, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.
...we've said it all year, this team refuses to give up and with the season on the line they showed the entire league what Rangers hockey is all about. Couldn't be more proud to be a Blueshirts fans.
...can't remember a goal that's ever given a team the spark that Prospal's first goal did. The Rangers looked like they had nothing left after an emotional win over the Flyers last night but that goal jolted life into the team and into the Garden.
...Wolski-Stepan-Prospal. Who knew?
...to me the plays made before the Rangers goals were more impressive than the actual goals. Staal made a ridiculous play at the line to keep the puck in on the first goal, then Stepan beat his man to the puck on the second and on the third and fourth goals Callahan and Boyle just outworked the Bruins.
...remind me again why Sauer isn't in Calder talks?
...just a huge goal for Dubinsky who is someone that I'm hoping will make the next step in his career to become a leader on and off the ice.
...and as always the rock in between the pipes closes the door allowing his teammates to make a run. Best part of the night was when Lundqvist skated over to the bench all pumped up after Stepan's empty netter. Got me fired up.
...now that was MSG. Haven't heared the crowd that loud in years.
...how about Girardi, Callahan and Boyle risking life and limb jumping in front of Chara shot after Chara shot.
...tough night for McDonagh. But I think it will be a great learning experience for him down the road.
...a +4 for Staal a night after playing 34 minutes.
...off until Thursday when the Thrashers are in town.
On my way to the store this morning I had a neighbour saying this to me: "dude, you know you woke me up three times last night after 3AM? You either had a threesome or you were on drugs...? What the hell was all the screaming about?"
Luckily all my next door residents are between 20 - 30yrs old otherwise I would be out on the streets!
Clearly the most electrifying win of the season! No time to celebrate we need to win out and finish in 6th. No one wants to play us in the first round especially after those 2 games.
5 unanswered goals! what an amazing game to be at... easily one of the best, if not the best regular season game ive ever been to! just awesome!
I said it before without any reactions, I don't think Stepan clicks on a line with Gaborik. Good they put him with Prospal & Wolski.
btw I missed this great game, but nothing beats waking up in the morning and seeing that sweet 5-3 score!
Hope playoffs don't depend on game vs NJ though... wouldn't be good for anyone's heart ^^
My girlfriend bought us tickets to this game, and am I glad she did...our boys do not take no for an answer! Havent heard the garden that loud in a long time. You said it kevin. when I saw lunqvist head towards the bench after steps empty netter, I couldnt have been anymore pumped up...awesome win blue!
Fetisov for the Devils plays it across ice, into the far corner, matteau swoops to intercept, matteau behind the net, sweeps it in front, he scores, MATTEAU, MATTEAU, MATTEAU, STEPHANE MATTEAU, AND THE RANGERS HAVE ONE MORE HILL TO CLIMB BABY
Siiiiiick! Best game of the year. Rangers played a decent first ten minutes...that or Boston was incredibly sloppy breaking out of their own zone. Torts really rode those two lines towards the end huh, why not?!
@DamirLicina I'm pretty sure having a threesome is probably the only thing better than last night's win.
@ForEachNYR Doesn't seem like anyone clicks on a line with Gabby except for Avery.
@bauerout You owe your girlfriend big time. That was one of the greatest Rangers regular season games ever.
I cannot believe what this team did tonight after the emotionally draining win against the Flyers last night. At home, season on the line, rallying from down 3 against the league's stingiest team in game 80 of the season....come on guys, this is what being a hockey fan is all about. Nights like these are special.
@KevinDeLury Avery - Christensen - Gaborik would be best imo. Was that the other line yesterday?
@Scott_from_Jersey Couldn't have said it better myself.
